Cabinet Makers fabricate and repair wood/wooden items, fitting and assembling prepared wooden parts to make furniture. They will often create attractive designs on the front of cabinets in order to make them look stylish. Most cabinet makers work exclusively with wood, but some will utilise steel and other similar materials.
Firstly they will select a wood chosen by the customer, and they then proceed to polish it to make a nice flat smooth surface. Then using grinding tools they will cut the wood into the required number of pieces using a saw. Then they may engrave a picture or design in the wood, and connect the pieces using nuts and bolts etc. Finally they will varnish the wood in order to seal it and protect from water and other environmental threats.
